Abstract

285,255. Triumph Cycle Co., Ltd., and Parnell, F. G. Feb. 24, 1927. Steering-gear.-The draglink 15 is connected to one arm of a bell-crank lever 4 pivoted on the front axle 2, the other arm being connected to the stub-axle arms 9, and a friction brake or damper is provided acting on the bellcrank lever so that wheel wobble is eliminated or prevented. In the construction shown the boss 5 of the lever is clamped between two friction discs or washers 6. The bell-crank lever may be connected to the usual track rod coupling the two arms 9, or it may be connected to the arms by links 10, 12, a third link 11 being provided or not as desired. According to the Provisional Specification, the bell-crank lever may have a sliding connection with the track rod.
