Abstract
525,824. Vehicle spring suspensions. FODENS, Ltd., FODEN, W., and TWEMLOW, E. Feb. 28, 1939, No. 6525. [Class 108 (ii)] An eight-wheeled motor vehicle has a single driving axle h with twin driving wheels a thereon, two pairs c, d of steering wheels, and a fourth pair of wheels e disposed either in front of or to the rear of the driving wheels and being coupled to the driving axle springs g through levers i and shackles f so arranged that the load distribution to the driving wheels is about twice that on any one of the other three pairs of wheels. The levers i are pivoted on frame brackets j, and the length of the lever arms is such as to give the desired load distribution. Each of the non-driven wheels e may track midway between the tracks of the twin wheels a.
