327,606. Skerrett, H. N., (Timken- Detroit Axle Co.). May 2, 1929. Springs, arrangement of; equalizing load on wheels; guiding vertical play.-In a six-wheel motor vehicle the two rear driving axles are connected by equalizing members, to the centres of which are secured elliptic springs, radius rods being also connected to the axles and to the spring seats to act in conjunction with the equalizing members and transmit the driving and braking torque to the springs. The axles 6<a> are connected to one another at each end by an equalizing lever 7, the ends of which are pivoted at 8 below the axles while the centres are pivoted at 13 to the spring seats or brackets 4. One end of each spring D is pivoted to the frame while the other end is connected thereto by a shackle. The axles are further connected to the spring seat by radius rods 15 which, together with the equalizing lever 7, resist the driving and braking torque.
