Abstract
175,276. Hersot, L. Feb. 11, 1921, [Convention date]. Flexible transmitters.-A flexible cable acting by torsion is used for operating the brakes on the steering-wheels of motor and other vehicles. The cable 22 has a connecting-member 12 which may be integral with, or, as shown, may be jointed at 11 to the cam 5 for operating the brake blocks 4 pivoted at 7 to the member 6 secured to the stub axle. The other end of the cable 22 has a connecting-member 15 rotatably and slidably mounted in a bearing 17 on the axle 18 and is provided with the operating-farm 19. The adjacent members 15 for the two wheels may receive a rod 20 with the interposition of springs 21. The arms 19 may be actuated through means for equalizing the braking-force applied to the two wheels.
