Brakes, arrangement of. - Relates to front steering-wheel brakes for motor vehicles of the type in which a drum secured to the hub or spokes of each wheel is fitted with a cable-operated brake band. Each brake band b<1> is supported by a bracket b secured by the steering-arm a<3> to the stub-axle a<2>, the free end of the band being secured to an arm b<5> hinged to the bracket and operated by a Bowden wire c' from a hand-lever or pedal. A spring c<5> releases the brake when the pull on the wire is relaxed. Both front wheel brakes are operated from a single lever or pedal.
