Abstract

193,505. Yoxall, H. S., and Richardson, J. J. Nov. 25, 1921. Brakes, arrangement and disposition of.-Expanding and contracting brake members for motor-cycles and operating members and supports therefor are formed as a single unit adapted to be secured to the wheel axle and the frame. The parts, including an abutment 23 and lever 12, are carried by a plate 5 secured to the axle by a single nut, and prevented from rotation by a chain-stay clip 17. The contracting band 4 is retained in correct lateral position by a headed pin 20 on a plate 8, and is adapted to be received by a recess in the outer periphery of the drum. The lever 12 may be pivoted between the plate 8 and a plate spaced therefrom.
