502,031. Motor-vehicle steering-axles. MORRIS MOTORS, Ltd., and ISSIGONIS, A. A. Sept. 9, 1937, No. 24586. [Class 79 (v)] The steering swivel of an independentlysprung front wheel comprises a. block a carrying the wheel axle band formed with two intersecting holes approximately at right-angles to each other, a steering post i inserted through one hole and jointed at p to the outer ends of suspension links j connected to the chassis, and a post-securing member k inserted through the other hole and serving also as the steering arm n of the swivel. The member k, engages a recess l in the post i and is secured against rotation by a key m. The block a is formed with a flange e to which the brake plate f is secured. U.S.A. Specification 1.999,394 is referred to.
