Class 79(2) [Also in Group XXXII] In a vehicle, a pair of the main load-bearing wheels is arranged with a negative camber. The invention is applicable to vehicles having a front wheel drive, to trailers, Fig. 5 (not shown), and to independent rear wheel suspension systems, Fig. 6 (not shown). In the arrangement according to Fig. 8 (not shown), one half-axle shaft only is pivoted about a differential gear, the latter being arranged at a fixed inclination corresponding to that of one wheel. In another arrangement, Fig. 9, for a solid rear axle system, a differential gear D is mounted adjacent an axle casing, and is provided with coaxial drive shafts B and C each of which drives a road wheel through bevel gearing. Wheel camber may be adjusted in dependence upon steering of the vehicle or inclination of the vehicle body due to centrifugal force.
