[Class 80 (ii).] In starting-mechanism for internal-combustion engines, a flywheel 9, which is adapted to be connected, when desired, through reduction gearing and a yielding coupling &c. to the engine, is driven from the armature shaft 14 of an electromotor by centrifugally - actuated c l u t c h - blocks 25. The blocks slide in slots 25a in a disc 17 secured on the shaft 14 and have inclined edges 28 engaging similar surfaces on the disc, so that radial movement of the blocks is accompanied by axial movement, against the action of adjustable helical or plate springs 27, which serve to return the blocks when the motor is stopped.
