[Class 7 (v)] In a starter for aircraft, motor-vehicle and other engines, a coupling element is rotated manually or by a motor through reduction gearing and a friction clutch and is automatically brought into engagement with an engine member by means of a member which is connected to the coupling member through a friction coupling and by virtue of a higher speed of rotation than the coupling member exerts an axial and torsional thrust on the coupling member to urge it forwards into engagement with the engine member. The construction is the same as that described in Specification 529,552.
