Abstract
345,585. Stropping-apparatus. JENKINS, G. B., Bowman Models, Dereham, Norfolk. June 20, 1930, No. 18838. [Class 60.] A device for stropping double edged safety razor blades consists of a blade-holder comprising two plates 1 hinged at 2 and fitting in a handle 3. One plate has two parallel arms 5 at its ends and having spherical ends 5a. The strop consists of a block 7 of wood &c. carrying a leather &c. strip 8 secured at one end to the block, and at the other end acted upon by a screw 10 to vary its tension. On the sides of the block are guides 11 to accommodate the ends 5a, and in order that, as the blade moves from the ends of the strop, the blade may be bent to press upon the strop, either the ends of the block are sloped at 7a, or the ends of the guides are bent upwardly. The guides may be of channel section, the arms 5 having rollers thereon to run in the channels.
