Abstract
390,675. Stropping razors &c. BROWN, G., 87, Grasmere Road, Woodside, South Norwood, London. June 14, 1932, No. 16824. [Class 60.] A device for stropping razor blades &c. consists of a pair of rollers a mounted on spaced parallel spindles a<1> in a housing b at one end of a handle c. Between the rollers is mounted a platform d which may have projections d<1> for engaging the holes in a double-edged blade, and the blade is held on the platform by a spring finger e carried by the handle and having a longitudinal hump e<1>. The spindles a<1> are so positioned that when the device is placed on a strop a roller a rests on the strop just clear of the blade edge and holds the strop flat, the hump e<1> also resting on the strop. The rollers may be covered with leather &c. The strop may be of curved cross section, convex upwardly, being maintained in this form by shaped ends or inserts, the strop being flexible. As applied to stropping single-edged blades, one roller only is employed.
