Abstract
233,855. Gibbons, K. M. April 14, 1924. V-slot and like blade sharpeners.-A knife &c. is sharpened by drawing the edge across the peripheries of overlapping steel discs 20. The discs have cylindrical peripheries and are supported in inclined relationship within a casing 1 by means of a cage 22. The cage is formed of sheet metal shaped as shown in Fig. 5, the discs being supported by slots 23, 24. In a modification, one pair of discs only is used, the cage and casing being held at the end of a handle formed by a U-shaped metal strip. The discs may have bevelled peripheries, their axes then being parallel.
