Abstract

341,563. Ventilating crank chambers. WALKER, J. O., Brandlehow, The Drive, Long Benton, Northumberland. July 23, 1930, No. 32124/29. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iii).] A fitting for conveying oily vapour from the crank chamber to the air intake of a carburetter comprises a right-angled conduit c, leading from the side of a breather a to an orifice in a control valve d in the carburetter intake, and an extension forming an air inlet e. The valve d is in the form of a sleeve having opposed apertures of a diameter equal to that of the conduit c. A knob d<1> enables the valve to be rotated by hand to adjust the proportions of vapour and air admitted to the carburetter.
