531,431. Two-stroke engines ; cylinders. KLOCKNER - HUMBOLDT - DEUTZ AKT.- GES., (formerly HUMBOLDT - DEUTZMOTOREN AKT.-GES.). July 21, 1939, No. 21294. Convention date, July 21, 1938. [Class 7 (ii)] Compressed combustible mixture is supplied from the crank-case 6 by way of transfer passages and ports 3, and scavenging air from the engine-driven pump 14 by way of transfer passages and ports 2, the air forming a screen between the mixture stream and exhaust ports 4. Conjoint control of the inlet conduits to the crank-case and pump is effected by throttles 19, 20 and a linkage 40. In a modification a double-acting pump driven from an eccentric on the' crank-shaft supplies scavenging air to a pair of working cylinders.
