686,502. Two-stroke engines. MECCANICA VERGHERA SOC. r.l. April 6, 1951 [Feb. 24, 1951], No. 8088/51. Class 7 (ii). In a two-stroke internal-combustion engine with scavenging carried out by two separate streams of fuel-mixture supplied by two separate feeding cylinders which suck the mixture directly from the carburetter (not shown), and without the addition of further air pump it into the two engine intake ports, each feeding piston has its connecting rod 11 driven by an auxiliary shaft connected to the main driving shaft through gearing having a 1:1 ratio. The feeding pistons draw lubricantfree fuel-mixture directly from the carburetter and supply it transversely to the main cylinder 2 through tubes provided with automatic valves 7; the feeding cylinders have a combined displacement equal to or greater than that of the main cylinder.
