Abstract

277,643. Boden, G. Sept. 18, 1926. [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-The power piston 9 works inside a reciprocating cylinder 8 which always moves in the same direction as the power piston but whose stroke is much less. The cylinder head is enlarged and acts as a pump for mixture admitted to a stationary cylinder 1 through the valve 4; a delivery valve 10 for this mixture is mounted in the head of the reciprocating cylinder. Air is compressed in the crank case and delivered through the transfer passage 6 and suitable ports in the fixed and reciprocating cylinders. A throttle 18 is placed in the transfer passage so that the engine can work without the air supply. The Specification as open to inspection under- Sect. 91 (3) (a) also states that a divided tank may be used to hold petrol and benzole or a mixture of fuels; the petrol is used when the throttle 18 is closed and the other fuel, when the crank case supplies air; the change over prevents detonation. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
