Abstract

336,514. Donne & Willans (1909), Ltd., and Donne, M. Jan. 21, 1930. Hoods.-In vehicle roof apertures closable by a folding roof the latter comprises a system ot levers and links operating about a pair of fixed pivots and carrying a forward peak stick in such a manner that on the system being collapsed the peak stick remains at the front of the collapsed hood and with the same side exposed to the weather as when in its forward or closed position. As shown the hoop sticks C, D, E, are carried by levers C<1>, D<1>, E<1>, pivoted to a lever A and linked together and to the cantrail B bv links F, G, H. The peak stick J is carried by an arm J<1> pivoted at J<2> to an extension K of the lever A and linked by link M to an extension of lever E<1>. In the collapsed position the peak stick J remains in front and. in the extended or closed position fits over the fixed member N. A locking member P<1> is provided. The flexible cover is secured to the peak stick and to the rear of the fixed roof.
