Hoods. - In motor-vehicle hoods of the kind which, when folded, are received in a compartment formed in the body, the frame comprises parallel or substantially parallel linkages carried on pivoted arms supporting the main hoop stick, for supporting the front and rear hoop sticks. The supporting arms B of the main sticks A are pivoted within the hood compartment D and carry linkages a, b, c, d of which the arms a, b are pivoted to the arms B, and carry arms c, d which are pivoted together. The arms c carry the rear hood stick E, while the front hoop stick F is carried by arms j pivoted to slightly bent levers l pivoted to the arms B and pivotally connected to the arms d. The stick E is also supported by links o, p pivoted together and to arms j and arms d respectively Spring-controlled devices for opening the hood may be provided, and also supporting and locking means for the collapsed hood.
