Hoods. - Relates to vehicle hoods of the kind in which an horizontal cant-rail is formed in two parts A, A<2> hinged together as at A<3> and supported by main and front hinged pillars B, B<3> from the body C and is provided with toggle links D, D<2> supporting an intermediate bow D<4>. According to the invention, a front pillar B<3> hinged at B<4> to the body and at A<5> to a forward extension of the rear cant-rail member A is employed in conjunction with a folding strut F of a known kind pivoted at F<2> to the body and at A<4> to the interconnection of the rear cant-rail member A and the main pillar B and having an extension connected by a single link G to the rear toggle link D. As shown, an extension F' of the upper member of the strut F beyond the joint F<4> forms a lock for the strut. The front cant-rail members A<3> carry a front bow adapted to be secured to the wind-screen pillars H. and a rear bow J<2> is carried by inclined pillars J preferably pivoted to the hinges B<2> of the main pillars.
