Hoods.-In vehicle hood fittings of the kind having one or more hinged pillars, cant-rails in two or more parts, and back ,stays with butt hinges, the back stay being extended beyond the rear hinged pillar 1 and the forward end of this extension being connected by a link 19 to the rear part 7 of the cant-rail, or to one of a pair of pivoted levers 10, 11, means are provided for supporting the rear pillar and rear cant-rail members while the front cant-rail members are being collapsed which means comprise a rigid strut 22 connected to the rear cant-rail member by a curved link 31. In conjunction with the strut a spring 27 may be provided disposed between the pillar 1 and the side of the vehicle.
