Abstract

236,742. Bunn, C. W. Aug. 1, 1924. Hoods.-In a hood fitting of the kind provided with two falling pillars and a cant-rail at each side, the cant-rail 1 is connected to the forward falling pillar 2 by two links 3, 4 as shown, the falling pillars 2, 9 are connected at top and bottom by pivoted links 10, 14, and a pair of upwardly-inclined pivoted links 15, 16 carry the hood-bow 17. The provision of the links 13, 14 converts the hood fitting into a seif-contained unit which may be fitted to the body of the vehicle without the necessity of carefully marking the centres of the falling pillars. The links 10, 14 are pivoted to the rear falling pillar 9 at 11, 19 respectively, and the extensions of the links are connected bv a stay 13, the pivot 19 of the lower link 14 also carrying the hood rear-stay 20 and the body plates 21. The link 15 is connected to the rear falling pillar 9 by a link 18.
