Abstract

236,741. Bunn, C. W. Aug. 1, 1924. Hoods.-In hoods comprising a hinged pillar provided with links attached to the forwardlyprojecting cant-rail and with a rear strut which may be associated with a spring to facilitate the raising of the hood, the hinged pillar is provided with an additional stay in the form of a pair of links which are butt-hinged together, one of the links bearing the rear strut. The cant-rail plate 1 is connected to the hinged pillar-plate 7 by an upper link and a lever arm 3, 9 which also carries the rear strut 10 surrounded by a spring co-operating with an eye 17 of a link 16. The lower end of the rear strut 10 is connected to the additional stay comprising a butt-hinged pair of links 11, 15 in such a way that on raising the cant-rail plate 1 the additional stay is collapsed. The link 15 is pivoted to the body plate 14 while the link 11 is pivoted on a lug 12. Specification 177,562 is referred to.
