Abstract

Hoods.-In vehicle hoods of the kind in which the main hoop stick is constituted as the rear hoop stick while in place of the usual main hoop stick an auxiliary hoop stick is provided and one of the usual extension links, preferably the lower, is extended backwards and connected by means of a link to the rear hoop stick, the auxiliary hoop stick D, E, and the link H are connected to a slide C on the rear or main hoop stick A, B and the link H is connected to the hoop stick A, B by a radius rod K. A telescoping spring arm P is connected to the body and to a lever N carried by the rear or main hoop stick A, B at its pivot M, which comprises a spindle passing through the vehicle body, in such a manner as to assist the raising of the hood and to hold it in its lowered position.
