Abstract

401,842. Vehicle hoods. SALMONS, G., 53, Tickford Street, and BALLS, A. H. DALBY-, 153, Tickford Street, Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. Aug. 30, 1932, No. 24225. [Class 108 (i).] A foldable hood frame comprises a rear pillar 3 with a fitting 4 having a forwardly extending lug 5 connected to cant rail fitting 7 by link 6 shaped as shown. Link 6 has pivoted thereto a rocking arm 10 connected at one end to a hoop 11 and at the other end to a link 12 which is also pivoted to a cranked lever 13. This lever is pivoted to the cant rail fitting 7, to the rear pillar fitting 4 and to a rod 15 connected to the body fitting 17 as shown. The rear pillar fitting 4 and the body fitting 17 are also connected by rods 20, 23 as shown, the rod 23 having an extension 29 for mechanical operation of the hood if desired.
