Abstract
180,851. Wilkes, J., and Wilkes & Sons, Ltd., S. April 16, 1921. Hoods.-In a hood for a road vehicle comprising a middle and rear pillar pivotally connected by a cant-rail and provided with a rail extending forwardly from the middle pillar, one of the rails extends beyond its pivot and is there pivotally connected by a link to the end of the other rail so that when the front rail is moved from its extended position the link imparts a thrust to the cantrail in a direction transverse to the line joining the pivots of the rails. An extension 10 of the front cant-rail 3 above its pivot 6 on a plate 4 secured to the top of the middle pillar and an extension 9 of the rear cant-rail beyond its pivot 5 on the plate 4 are pivotally connected by a link 11. The top of the plate 4 may be cranked to keep the rails 2, 3 and the lower part of the plate in one plane.
