Hoods. - In a collapsable hood for motor and other vehicles, a jointed stretcher bar 7, 8, is extended beyond its pivot 11 on a main support 1, pivoted to the vehicle body at 3, to form a lever 12 connected by a jointed link 14 and a forward link 17 to a front cant-rail 18 which is hinged at 20 to a rear cant-rail 19 pivoted to the main support 1. An upward movement of the cant-rail 18 about its hinge 20 unlocks the rear stretcher bar 7, 8 and permits the hood to be folded. A flexible connection passing over a pulley on the main support may replace the lever 12 and links 14, 17. The main support 1 is formed with a swan-neck 2 provided with a projection 4 adapted to engage in a recess in the coachwork and prevent side play.
