177,456. Rees, F. J. July 28, 1921. Hoods.-A motor-car hood is unfolded by gear wheels 16, 15 which rotate pulleys 13 on a transverse shaft 12 to wind up ropes or chains 14 connected to the ends 6 of extensions 3 fixed at right-angles to the lower parts of the rear pillars 2, each of which pillars has a forward extension 10<a> carrying a rear cant-rail 7 hinged to a front cant-rail 21 and also connected thereto by links 22, 23 controlled by a link 22<a> connected to the extension 10<a>, the rear cant-rail 7 having a rearward extension 9 pivotally connected to the body of the vehicle by a rod 19.
