140,149. Jeffery, F. T. Jan. 8, 1919. Hoods.-A hood of the kind in which the whole framework is constrained to fold upon raising the front hoop-stick, comprises uprights 1, 2 pivoted at 4, 5 to the body, a rear horizontal bar 10 pivoted to the upright 1 at 9 and having a downwardly bent part 15 pivoted at 16 to the upright 2, a forward horizontal bar 14 carrying the front hoop-stick and pivoted at 12 to the bar 10, links 18, 19 pivoted together and to the bars 14, 10 at 17, 20 respectively, and a link 23 pivoted to the link 19 and to the upright 1 or, as shown, to an extension thereon. The pivots 17, 20, 9 are in alinement. A hoop-stick 25 may be pivoted at 4 as shown, or on a rear cranked, extension of the upright 1. The link 19 and upright 1 also carry hoop-sticks. The hoop-sticks may be made in one piece with the uprights from a tube which is flattened for attachment of the pivots. Specifications 8268/13, 21084/13, 22610/13, and 5336/14 are referred to.
