Abstract
140,551. Harrison, W. W. Feb. 6, 1919. Hoods.-Relates to means for preventing undue rearward projection of the rear hoop-stick on vehicles provided with dicky seats. The main forwardly-extending bar d is connected to the main upright a by an horizontal link f connected to the bar d at f<2> and to the upright a at f<3>, and by a vertical link c connected to the rear ex. tremity of the bar d at c<3> and to the upright at c<2>. The rear hoop-stick e is connected at e<2> to the link c, and when, in folding the hood, the link c swings downwardly, this hoop-stick is drawn forwardly so that it does not project at the rear beyond the upright a. In the folded position, the links c, f and the bar d all lie along the upright a with the links extending forwardly from their pivots c<2>, f<3> on the uprights. In the unfolded position, the link f rests upon the pivot c<3> of the link c. A middle hoop-stick g is pivoted at g<2> on the link f, and is connected by a link h to the bar d. This hoop-stick and link are also disposed between the upright a and the bar d in the folded position.
