Windscreens. - Relates to windscreens for the rear seats of motor vehicles of the kind which are carried by upright supports i<1>, i<2> slidably mounted on horizontally rods b<1>, b<2> pivoted to the back of the front seat so that the screen may be adjusted towards or away from the occupants and in its extreme forward position folded down to an inoperative position. According the invention, the folding rods b<1>, b<2> carry at their outer ends sleeves or sockets s<1>, s<2> arranged parallel to but above the axes of the rods b<1>, b<2>, and the screen p<2> is supported on a second pair of rods c<1>, c<2> slidable within the sleeves s<1>, s<2>. The sleeves are fitted with tightening-means e<1>, e<2> for gripping the extension rods c<1>, c<2> and with roller-bearings for facilitating the sliding movement. When the screen is first erected to its upright position from the inoperative position it is prevented from falling forwards by the engagement of keys f<1>, f<2> on the rods c<1>, c<2> with shoulders on cut-away portions o<1>, o<2> of the sleeves s<1>, s<2>. Projections n<1>, n<2> on the rods b<1>, b<2> limit their angular movement in an outward direction.
