Windscreens, particularly for the rear or dickey seats of motor vehicles, are supported by means of a pair of telescopic vertical arms a, a<1> which are connected by a tube c and have pivoted thereto a second pair of telescopic arms d, d<1> pivotally carrying the screen f, the arrangement permitting the screen to be adjusted both horizontally and vertically and also allowing the telescopic arms and the screen to be folded down into adjacency. The connection between the arms d, d<1> and the tubes c, e may be of a universal nature by providing additional pivots d<5>, d<6>, so that the screen may be displaced laterally to facilitate egress from or egress to the vehicle seats. Also, the arms a, a<1> may be pivotally mounted on base-pieces b so as to be capable of displacement either in a lateral or longitudinal direction. Pivoted struts d<4> on the arms d, d<1> engaging ratchet members a<6> on the arms a, a<1> may be employed to maintain the arms d, d<1> in any adjusted position.
