Abstract
174,872. County Screen Co., Ltd., and Marsh, F. F. March 10. 1921. Wind and Like screens. -An adjustable wind-screen for a motor-car or other vehicle consists of a two-leaved screen provided with means whereby such screen can be extended horizontally as a protection to passengers in the rear seats of a car, or carried to the side of the front seats to form a side-screen. The leaves a of the screen, which may have an apron attached to their lower edges, are each mounted on a vertical spindle b and are locked in any angular position thereon by the wing nuts d. The lower end of each vertical spindle b terminates in a split socket or bearing mounted on the end of the arm j of the horizontally extending arms i, j, and may be locked in any position on the arm by the set-screw f<1>. Wing-nuts k, i<1> enable the extending arms to be locked in any position. The screens a may be swung to the side, as shown in dotted lines, to form screens for the front seats. When two sets of two-leaved screens are used, the inner leaf of each may be connected up to form one central screen. More than two screens may be provided where both side-screens and rear screens are required. The horizontal supporting-arms may comprise one arm i only. which may be rigid or telescopic. The horizontal supporting-arms may both be mounted on one pivot k<1>.
