Abstract

280,663. Sleigh, H. L., and Cheston, A. S. Sept. 10, 1926. Folding seats; rests, arm.-A folding seat, particularly applicable to motor vehicles, comprises a back support 1 pivoted at 2 to a base 4, and a seat member 7, pivoted at 8 to the, support 1, and having a rearward extension 9 connected by a link 10 to the base 4, so that when the back support 1 is folded down on to the base 4, the seat 6 is moved against the member 1. Pivoted arm-rests 11 may be provided to move in a similar way, by means of the extensions' 16 and links 13. The back-rest 20 may be slidably mounted on the support 1 and connected by a link 21 with the part 16, so that it is moved downwards on the support 1, as the seat is folded. The base 4 may be pivoted at 14, so that the completely folded seat may be housed in a recess in the back of the front seat.
