Abstract

326,848. George, J. Dec. 21, 1928. Folding seats.-A folding seat for a motor car comprises in combination front legs 2 pivoted at 4, rear legs 3 pivoted at 5, connecting members 8 pivoted at 6 and 7 and having rearward and upward extensions to which a back-rest 11 is pivoted at 10, downward extensions S of the back-rest 11, and a link 13 so pivoted at 15 to a rear leg and at 14 to an extension S, that when the seat is in position of use, the pivot 14 is located in front of the straight line joining the pivots 10 and 15. By this arrangement, accidental collapsing of the seat is avoided.
