203,890. Metcalfe, H. R., and Hayes, J. R. S. Sept. 4, 1922. Folding and collapsable seats; adjustments. - In a folding arm-chair having a seat pivoted at the front to a pair of legs, which are themselves pivoted to another pair carrying a back rest, means being provided to detachably support the back of the seat on the rear legs in a plurality of positions, means, such as hanging links, are also provided to support the rear ends of arms which are pivotally connected to the front legs. The seat 15, which may be upholstered, is pivoted between the legs 1 and has notches 12 in slots 8 in which a rod or rollers 9 engage to provide adjustment for the seat. The arms 18 are pivoted to the legs 1 and are supported in various positions by swinging links 20, preferably of aluminium, connected bv a transverse rod. The links have extensions 26 to prevent accidental release of the arms and an inner contour of such shape as to provide alternative positions for the arms. A foot-rest may comprise a rail connected by side members pivoted to the legs 1.
