Abstract

424,466. Folding seats. SPICER, W. J., 77, Ladywood Road, and FORDRED, H. I., 172, Hagley Road, Edgbaston, both in Birmingham. June 29, 1934, No. 19193. [Class 52 (ii)] In a folding chair or stool of X-frame type, one of the pivoted supports to which the seat is attached is formed from two strips 1, 2, which are disposed side by side and connected together, e.g. by rivets, to form the central member of the support, the lower parts 3, 4, of the strips being splayed out, then turned horizontally at 5, 6, and finally vertically to form the sides 7, 8 of the frame. The seat 9 is pivoted at the front to the other supporting member 10, and is adapted at the rear to engage strips 11, 12 connecting the upper end of the first member. The seat back 16 is secured to members 13, 14, 15 pivoted to the upper ends of the first support.
