Abstract

720,920. Seats; furniture frames. BORK, C. S. April 15, 1953 [Jan. 8, 1953], No. 10243/53. Class.52 (2). A chair suitable for schools is provided with a back rest 7 comprising a plate the upper and lower edges 8, 9 curve rearwardly to present a convex shape in the vertical plane to the occupant. The sides 10, 11 preferably project forwardly so that the back rest 7 is concave in the horizontal plane. As shown two U-shaped tubes support the seat 1 and form the front and rear legs 2 .. 5 respectively while a further U-shaped tube 6 supports the back rest 7 and is connected to the rear and front legs as shown. The height of the chair is adjusted by the provision of extensions of various lengths adapted to be inserted into the lower ends of the legs.
