Abstract
617,923. Folding hoods ; cabins. BESSONNEAU, M. July 12, 1946, No. 20833. Convention date, Aug. 28, 1945. [Classes 4 and 113 (i)] [Also in Group XXXII] A folding hood for vehicles, boats or aeroplanes has the forward members 6 of a divided cantrail attached by links 9 and arms 35 to the rear members 7 and hoop 8. This assembly is pivotally attached at 11 to an arm 10 carrying a toothed sector 16 and rotated about 14 by a motor (not shown) through a gear train 17-28. The upper gear 17 carries an arm 31 to which.is pivoted at 38 the rear hoop 1 and, at the extremity of said arm, the link 32. A rod 34 rotatable about a fixed point at its lower end is connected to arm 35. To fold the hood the pivot 11 is moved downwards and arm 31 and rod 35 are moved rearwards, thus forcing member 7 rearwards and downwards about the pivot 11, member 6 being swung rearwards about point 37 by the link 9, the whole being enclosed below the upper body line between points B-C. Specifications 447,641, 463,986, and 512,321, [all in Group XXXII], are referred to.
