Abstract

647,031. Folding hoods for vehicles. HALLAM, SLEIGH & CHESTON, Ltd. Aug. 6, 1948, Nos. 20761 and 24865. [Class 108(i)] The operating means for a vehicle hood comprises a cant rail member 6 and a hinged pillar member 1 together with link 7 and lever 3 to support the cant rail 6 from the pillar 1, and links 11, 16, and lever 14, the arrangement being such that the movement of the cant rail member 6 relatively to the upright 1 is delayed during the collapsing movement of the head and permits the cant rail 6 being fully extended in relation to the pillar 1 during the unfolding of the head before the latter reaches its final position. Other embodiments are described.
