Abstract

311,081. Park Ward &. Co., Ltd., and Park, W. M. May 1, 1928. Hoods.-In folding roofs for closed vehicles of the kind where the front portion folds over on to the rear portion, the rear portion is mounted for downward movement from normal position so that the front portion, when folded on to it, will be accommodated without projecting above the top of the body. As shown, the front portion of the folding roof is carried by hinged frames 5, 6, 7 pivoted to metal bars carried by the side frames 2 of the vehicle. The rear portion comprises a frame or panel 1 carried by short links 3 pivoted to the bars 4. The members 7 of the front portion are provided with extensions 7a linked by links 9 to the links or arms 3 so that on folding over of the front portion on to the rear portion the latter will sink slightly owing to the movement of the links or arms 3.
