Abstract
360,065. Caravans; luggage holders. TAGGART, T., Kilnholm, Catherine Street, Motherwell, Lanarkshire. Aug. 7, 1930, No. 23614. [Classes 103 (ii) and 108 (i).] A collapsable hut is arranged to be carried on the cant rails of a motor vehicle, so as to be easily removed therefrom for erection alone or in conjunction with the vehicle. The base frame of the hut is formed of sides 16 and end brackets 17 and fitted with detachable curved brackets 19 to engage the cant rails, the ends of these brackets depending into the drip rails 15. The sides and roof of the hut are formed with grooved posts 22 and panels 23 and are supported on the top of the floor frame 21, the whole being covered by a two-part metal hood 48, which, when open, serves to shade the front and rear parts of the vehicle. The floor of the hut may be formed in hinged sections so as to fold up to form a box 43 which can be carried on the ordinary luggage carrier of the car. When it is required to carry more than one hut, the sides of one base frame are made extensible so that this frame can fit over the other base frame and be carried in additional brackets 47 fixed to the supporting brackets 19. The base frame may be used to carry other luggage.
