Abstract

360,853. Luggage holders; caravans. AINSWORTH, L., Ellaslea, Timberland, Lincolnshire. Aug. 9, 1930, No. 23867. [Classes 103 (ii) and 108 (i).] A collapsable hut or shelter 14 for use with motor cars and which may be used as a luggage carrier, comprises a base portion 10 which is fitted to or forms part of the roof of a car and a roof 13 which normally rests on the top of the base but can be raised by means of lazytongs 20 and supported in raised position by means of hinged levers 25. The lazy tongs are operated through interconnected screw gearing 23 from a handle 17. Side extensions to surround the car may be fitted to the base and 'consist of brackets 33 supported by stays 35 hinged to the brackets, flexible covering material being supported from these brackets.
