Abstract
469,038. Caravans; folding vehicles. WOOD, B. G. Jan. 21, 1936, No. 1714. [Class 108 (i)] A caravan is arranged to have a side extension comprising a side hinged panel adapted to form the roof or the floor of the extension which is formed as a tent with fabric walls, hinged supports and tent ropes. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the vehicle A is provided with a hinged panel C which may be opened either as a roof E or as a floor of a tent-like extension B. The extension B is provided with a roof E, floor, uprights K, supports 0 and fabric walls which are adapted to be collapsed for stowing away when not in use. Guy ropes P serve to strengthen the extension and a ventilator G is provided while the interior is fitted with beds, tables, doors, &c. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the roof D of the vehicle is adapted to be raised and supported by triangular window frames F or other means, while if desired the floor of the extension may be dispensed with, the fabric walls of the extension prolonged to reach the ground.
