[Class 108 (i)] [See also Group X] A folding tent-like or caravan structure adapted to be carried on the luggage grid &c., of a motor vehicle (as shown in Fig. 1), comprises hinged floor and wall sections foldable into a vertical position above the front floor section on the luggage grid, the extended structure providing raised sleeping accommodation and being supported at the rear end by hinged legs or the like. The structure is shown fully extended in Fig. 2, and partially closed in Fig. 3. The front part of the structure comprises a floorsection 1, and an end-wall 4, sides, and roof of plywood. Hinged to the floor-section 1 is a section 7 to which is hinged a rear floorsection 9. An end-wall 10 is hinged to the section 9 and a flexible canopy 12 is carried by this wall and the roof 3 of the front part of the structure. Metal frames 15 detachably fitted to the floor-section 7 carry fabric &c., panels 17 secured, as by press-button fasteners 18, to the framing of the end-wall 10. The frames 15 may be fitted with hinged doors 16 and folding stays 25, pivoted to the frames 15, adapted to engage recesses in the side members of the rear wall 10 to tension the canopy 12. A hammock &c. 27 may be flung on cross-members 26, 28. The floor framings are preferably covered with perforated sheet metal. In the closed position Fig. 1, an extended base 19 of the floor section 7 is secured to the roof portion 3 as by togglefasteners 20.
