Abstract
523,333. Caravans. ENSOR CARAVANS, Ltd., and ENSOR, C. A. Dec. 31, 1938, No. 37953. [Class 108 (i)] A caravan or like vehicle is provided with a supplementary chamber adapted to be collapsed against the side of the main body and it may also have a further chamber or annexe which may be collapsed on to one side of the supplementary chamber. The supplementary chamber or kitchen 2, as shown, comprises a pair of sides 3, 4 foldable one upon the other and together, about a hinge 3a upon the side of the body 1 and a pair of sides 5, 6 similarly foldable. A roof flap 9 and a corresponding floor flap are hinged to the main body so as to fold one against the other and upon the sides after these have been folded. Access to the kitchen 2 is obtained from the body 1 and by a door 8 in the side 6. An annexe comprises sides 12, 13 foldable one upon the other and upon the side 3 of the kitchen and a door 14 which can be swung against the side of the body 1 and which in that position may close a cupboard in the body 1. A roof flap 15 for the annexe is hinged to the side 3. In a modification, the three sides of the annexe fold upon one another and against the side 3. According to the Provisional Specification the annexe may be independent of the supplementary chamber and may fold similarly to that chamber. Also the side panels of the chamber may be divided horizontally and the parts be hinged to the roof and floor flaps respectively.
