A panel 2 which forms the rear of a vehicle is connected by arms 3 hinged together at 15 and to the body and panel so that it may be moved rearwardly to increase the luggage space. The floor 4a may be slidably mounted or hinged to the floor 20 and cantilever brackets 16 may also be fitted, bellows 6 completing the compartment. The arms 3 may be constituted by full height rigid panels and the panel 2 may be hinged to open upwardly.
