Abstract

263,673. Hellstrand, E. A. June 16, 1926. Bodies; opening tops.-In a motor vehicle body having seats arranged upon a floor, which may be in sections on the chassis frame and a body frame suspended at three points 8 - - 10 on the chassis frame, the shell is independent of the seats and floor and has a rigid detachable roof or top 17 carried by the shell, whilst the windows are carried solely by the shell. The shell comprises a scuttle 12, side panels 13, doors, a back panel, and any necessary transverse connecting members. A detachable roof 17 is secured by a connection 18 to the wind shield and by connections at 19 to the shell. The windows 14, 15 may be remov. able. If desired, the shell may be extended down. wards at 21 to form a valance.
