Abstract

378,711. Vehicle luggage holders. WEYMANN'S MOTOR BODIES (1925), Ltd., 22, Austin Friars, London, and ORANGE, J., Bedlington, near Newcastleon-Tyne. Oct. 27, 1931, No. 29785. [Class 103 (ii).] A road-vehicle luggage-receptacle comprises an open box-like structure 5 fitted with a collapsable hood comprising a flexible fabric covering 10 supported by one or more hoops pivoted to and spanning the receptacle, the hood being movable between a folded inoperative position at one end of the receptacle and an operative position in which it covers the receptacle. The hoop 7 is connected by rods 8 with a hoop 6 and has pivoted to its sides a corner hoop 9, the covering 10 of leather, canvas, &c., or the cloth known under the registered Trade Mark " Birkmyre," being stretched over the three hoops and secured in its closed position by straps 11. The sides of the receptacle may comprise raised rails on the roof of the vehicle.
