A caravan has a rigid body 1 provided with bunks 16 and has a lid 4 hinged along a longitudinal edge so that it may be propped open by stays 5 to give headroom inside the vehicle. Waterproof sheets 12, 12X complete the closure being secured to the body by releasable fasteners 13. The props 5 have pins at their upper ends to engage apertures in leaf springs 10 secured to the lid 4.
